If you are offering (or thinking of offering) a co-op next school
term, please email checnews@yahoo.com with the particulars
as soon as possible. Although we are just "finishing up" this
year, we have co-op sign up in early August for next school
term. Please send the information even if you teach a co-op
that has been ongoing. Read the "setting-up a co-op" tips
page if you are interested. The loop is a great place to ask for
help or float the idea to gauge interest.

The end-of-year pool party (for 07-08 members) is July
25th from 7:00 until 9:00pm. Mark your calendars! More

Three of our CHEC high schoolers will be attending the NCFCA national
speech and debate tournament in Birmingham, Alabama this month.
There they will compete with homeschooled kids from across the nation.
John David Woolington will compete in the Open Interpretation
Category. Victoria and Cameron Rentschler will be attending the same
tournament as a Team Policy debate team. We will post the results in the
June newsletter!

Student News:
The Midlands Homeschool Band has awarded Lauren Ogburn
Most Outstanding Spirit Award and the Directors Award. She earned the
Directors Award by playing the flute and baritone saxophone; a band
scholarship for next year was awarded with this honor. Ms. Ogburn also
helped teach the beginner's band. Lindsay Ogburn earned the Most
Improved Beginning Band Player award. She plays the clarinet. Parents
Barry and Angela are very proud of them.
Congratulations to all these students for the recognition they have
received!

for a moms-only evening of fellowship & book browsing/shopping
(and coffee if you'd like!).
If you would like to carpool, email Stephanie Rostollan. She will be
leaving her house in Lugoff at 7:30pm. Her van can seat 15.
